Armenia has more than three million inhabitants, a third of which lives in Yerevan, the capital of the country. The actual figures differ from the official ones for the simple fact that there is a strong phenomenon of male migration towards Russia: this country infact has decided to open its doors to the armenians men looking for a job. But expatriation is causing severe problems to the family structure: women are often left alone; they have to work, raise and educate their children on their own; they are a sort of 'white widows' abandoned by their husbands who often live abroad with their new russian women. Considering that very few men remain in their homeland, the most important mission for armenian girls is to find a husband before turning 25. That's why the city is full of beauty centers and wedding dress shops.
